How can I verify that Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are good markets for my company before we register for the trade mission?

Contact one of our International Trade Managers or the Trade Mission Leader (see next page) immediately! We only want you to make the trip if we think there is good market potential in Saudi Arabia and or the UAE for your company.

We can recommend or perform exploratory market research within a short period of time to verify the market potential for you. (*Additional costs apply / RVO Vouchers applicable.)

Am I eligible for the RVO subsidy?

This trip is registered with International Ondernemen and gives the opportunity to qualify for a mission voucher.

  • Mission voucher RVO (Rijksdienst Voor Ondernemend Nederland)

Companies can request a mission voucher from the RVO for this trip, with which costs up to a maximum of € 2,500.00 can be reimbursed.

How will I get to my meetings?

UAE – We will provide group transportation to the local Dubai World Expo which will likely serve as the venue for your B2B meetings. Should the group meetings be an off-site meeting, we will arrange for local transportation.

Saudi Arabia – We will provide group transportation to the local Chambers of Commerce which will likely serve as the venue for your B2B meetings. Should the group meetings be an off-site meeting, we will arrange for local transportation.

  • Note: charges for ground transportation, such as car rental (with or without a driver) and for off-site meetings not in the program will be the responsibility of each mission participant.

How are airline and hotel reservations handled?

Airline tickets: You book (and pay for) your own airline ticket via a local travel agent or online air travel website. If you do not have a travel agent, the Trade Mission Leader can recommend one for you.

Hotels: We will select the hotels and, if possible, arrange for blocks of rooms. For efficiency and security, all participates must stay in the same designated hotel in each city.

Participants will be responsible for making their own hotel reservations by using a group code provided by the Trade Mission Leader (if a block rate is available). You will pay all hotel room charges directly to the hotel.

Will I need an interpreter?

No. A translator is not necessary for either in Saudi Arabia or the UAE as English is the widely spoken language of business.

When will the Trade Mission take place?

The Trade Mission will take place from the 22nd of March to the 31st of March 2022.

In the UAE we will be based in Dubai from which other primary business centers (e.g., Abu Dhabi, Sharjah) are easily accessible by car in approximately two hours or less.

We will visit the Dubai World Expo while in Dubai and participate in the Curaçao Week events  , there is also the possibility to attend the Global Business Forum LATAM on the 24th to the 26th of March, 2022.

What are the entry requirements for Dubai, UAE?

Dutch passport holder: A valid passport is required with 6 months validity remaining. Dutch citizens don’t need a visa before traveling to UAE. On arrival you will get an entry visa.

Key Information for Travelers to the United Arab Emirates

  • Make sure you are fully vaccinated before traveling to the United Arab Emirates.
  • Unvaccinated travelers should avoid nonessential travel to the United Arab Emirates.
  • Because of the current situation in the United Arab Emirates, all travelers may be at risk for getting and spreading COVID-19 variants.
  • Travelers should follow recommendations or requirements in the United Arab Emirates, including wearing a mask and staying 6 feet apart from others.

What does my participation fee include for the Dubai Trade Mission?

You must pay the trade mission participation fee of to HMS Curaçao at the time of registration. The participation fee includes the following:

Identifying, contacting, and pre-qualifying local distributors, reps and/or partners and organizations of your pne on one meetings with interested prospects

Briefings on “Doing Business in Dubai and UAE”

Your HMS Trade Mission Leader and in-country consultant on hand during the week to ensure everything runs to plan

When will the Trade Mission take place?

The Trade Mission will take place from the 25th of March to the 1st of April 2022.

The objective of the ‘Curaçao meets the Middle East’ trade mission is to support companies with international ambition and help professionalize export and import by providing information and Master Classes (Global Entrepreneurship Network) by experts and connecting with the Middle East markets by establishing contacts with potential business partners through the global network.

We will visit Riyadh while in Saudi Arabia, there is also the possibility to attend the GEN Conference on the 28th of March, 2022.

What are the entry requirements for Saudi Arabia?

Dutch passport holder: A valid passport is required with 6 months validity remaining, plus you will need an e-visa.

  • Note: The nationals of the 26 Schengen member countries will no longer need to apply for a regular visa for traveling to Saudi Arabia. Instead, they will only need to apply online for an e-visa, thus avoiding all the time-consuming processes of obtaining a visa. https://visa.visitsaudi.com/.
  • Important notice for visitors traveling to Saudi Arabia on a tourism visa.

Saudi has reopened to vaccinated international visitors from 1 August 2021.

All visitors arriving in the country with a valid tourism visa must provide evidence of a full course of one of the four vaccines currently recognized: two doses of the Oxford/Astra Zeneca, Pfizer/BioNTech, or Moderna vaccines or a single dose of the vaccine produced by Johnson and Johnson.
